All governments consist of elites which follow their own agendas, or more usually the agendas of the powerful, which is currently to say transnational companies and international finance capital. We should not therefore be looking to a new UK government to redress the crime of attacking Iraq, but to transferring decisive power to ordinary people worldwide by devices like a citizen right to requisition binding referenda on any subject citizens choose to raise.
