Conference Report
The founding conference of Peace and Progress was held
in London on November 27 2004. The main event at the conference
was an international discussion, 'Human Rights in the
21st Century'.
Britain's Guantanamo
Internment without trial in Belmarsh
Belmarsh Prison is Britain's own legal black-hole where
suspects in the "War on Terror" are detained
without trial. On the 15th of February 2004, Peace and
Progress organised a symposium in London to discuss the
implications for civil liberties and human rights of the
Belmarsh detentions.

Commission
The Guantanamo Human Rights Commission was launched at
a press conference at the House of Commons on January
20 2004.
